New this year!!!
During the month of January the Council Popcorn Committee and a select group of Pack and Troop leaders met to review proposals from the three popcorn companies approved by National BSA. Each of the three companies, Trails End, Camp Master and Pecatonica River Popcorn Companies made a presentation at a meeting of the Popcorn Committee which included product tasting.
After a review of all the data side by side the committee met again to choose the company we will use for 2015. The committee was asked to select a company that would excite our Units and Scouts to sell Popcorn. The Committee unanimously selected the Pecatonica River Popcorn Company from Wisconsin.
Just a few of the reasons that Pecatonica River was selected are:
- It is gourmet popcorn! Great tasting products with some new and different products.
- Packaging was voted #1 with many items sold in tins, which the committee felt makes the product a gift. The perceived value of their products were higher than the other companies.
- A tasting kit will be given to each unit that sells popcorn.
- There will be a savings to the Council by the way of standard pricing not based on number of cases ordered.
The Pecatonica River Popcorn Company will conduct a Product Tasting at the Council Volunteer Recognition Dinner to be held Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the Park Inn by Radisson in Uniontown.
