Free Rank Incentive

2015 FAMILY FRIENDS OF SCOUTING

Leaders, would you like free rank advancement patches for your Pack, Troop, or Crew until February 29, 2016?

HERE’S HOW:

If you participate in the Family Friends of Scouting program with district assistance and achieve your unit goal, you can receive free rank advancement patches until February 29, 2016.  This includes Bobcat, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos and Arrow of Light for the Cub Scout program.  Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life and Eagle for the Boy Scout program.  And for the Venturing program:  Discovery, Pathfinder, and Summit Awards.

UNIT GOAL:

Families in your Unit on December 31, 2014 x.20 x $145 = GOAL

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Families are defined as youth members at re-charter (i.e.:  a Pack with 52 boys at re-charter would have 52 families).  In the instance of brothers from the same family, 2 or more youth from the same family count as 1 family.
  • The cost of delivering the Scouting program in 2015 is $145 per youth.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS FAMILY FOS INCENTIVE IS:

  • To recognize Units for their FOS achievement through free rank advancement.
  • Motivate families to support 20% of the cost of delivering Scouting to youth.

CREATING THE GOAL:

  • Total expenses (based off of the 2014 budget)
  • Less total indirect income (ie: United Way)
  • Less total revenue (ie: Camp Fees)
  • Divided by the total number of Traditional Scouts
  • Equals per Scout amount the Council must raise
